SESAME Secretariat

Enhancing the scientific level of Iranian researchers and scientists in the field of accelerator science would not have been possible without engagement in international initiatives such as SESAME. In July 2007, following approval by the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Islamic Republic of Iran officially became a member of the SESAME project (whose other members include Jordan, Türkiye, Palestine, Cyprus, Egypt, Pakistan, and Israel), with the aim of establishing Iran’s National Accelerator Laboratory.

The Center is responsible for following up on activities related to Iran’s membership in the international SESAME Council. Each year, it allocates a budget to support cooperation with SESAME and to facilitate the dispatch of graduate students to scientific centers in other countries to conduct research in the field of synchrotron science.
